Definition of undefined

The term "air conditioner" emerged in the early 20th century, combining the words "air" and "condition." The concept of "conditioning" air, however, predates the actual term. Early refrigeration technology and the development of Willis Carrier's "apparatus for treating air" in 1902 paved the way for modern air conditioning. "Air conditioner" became a popular term in the 1920s as the technology advanced and became more widely used for commercial and residential purposes. The term was solidified in the 1930s with the introduction of the first room air conditioners.
