Definition of radical

The word "radical" derives from the Latin radicalis, meaning "going to the root" or "fundamental." In the context of politics and social change, a radical is someone who advocates for fundamental, far-reaching, and often drastic transformations in society or government, seeking to address root causes rather than merely treating symptoms.
