a battle fought in 1704 near the small town of Blindheim in Bavaria, at which the British, led by the first Duke of Marlborough, defeated the army of the French king Louis XIV

a grand house in large grounds near Oxford, England, the home of the Duke of Marlborough. It was designed by Sir John Vanbrugh between 1705 and 1724. Sir Winston Churchill was born there in 1874. It was made a World Heritage Site in 1987.
