Definition of nestle

nestleverb

nép mình

/ˈnesl//ˈnesl/

The word "Nestle" is derived from the German word "Nesthäkchen", which translates to "little nestling". This name was coined by Henri Nestlé, a Swiss chemist and pharmacist, in the late 19th century. Nestlé initially created a nutritional substitute for breast milk to help mothers who were unable to nurse their babies. He wanted to provide an alternative that would be easily digestible and have a soothing effect on the infants, hence the name "little nestling". The product, named Farine Lactée, was a huge success and led to the creation of the Nestle Company in 1867. Over time, Nestlé expanded its product line to include a wide range of food and beverage items, but the name "Nestle" has remained a recognizable and trusted brand in the world market.
