(1491-1547) king of England (1509-47) and son of Henry VII. He is one of the most famous of all English kings, partly because he had six wives.

a play (1613) by Shakespeare, possibly the last he wrote. Some people believe he wrote it with somebody else, perhaps John Fletcher. It is about events surrounding King Henry VIII's divorce from Catherine of Aragon.
