Concentration

Introduce

This game is a version of the classic concentration game. The goal here is to help students learn vocabulary items by combining pictures and words. You can also hear sound when viewing images. The game is simple and fun. You click on pairs of squares and match words with pictures. If you reveal a matching word-picture pair then you get points and those squares disappear. You have to combine all the pictures and words as fast as possible. The focus comes in remembering the position of the pictures or words. The time you have to match all the squares decreases rapidly and so you have to be faster and faster in each round.

As with other games, you can choose what you like from a list of vocabulary items. The same set of lexical items repeats over and over again, and so you can be exposed to the same target language over and over again. You can then exit and switch to another set of vocabulary items and play again. At the end of the game there is a table to show the learners with the highest scores.

Matching pairs helps to learn vocabulary items because it allows associations between images, text, and sounds. By revealing the image and hearing the sound at the same time, a link is formed. Then, when the right text is revealed, the association is further strengthened. Therefore, listening and listening carefully to the audio part is quite important. While I don't think it's possible to learn the whole thing just by playing this game, I think it's possible to learn a few new words while also reviewing other items.

I really hope that you enjoy this game and can have fun learning. Leave a comment below in any language you prefer.
